Frequently Asked Questions...

Q: I am completely satisfied with my current provider so why
should I change?
A: Our desire to do more than just putting medications in bubble
packs has led to a protocol that produces more accurate medication
passes, increased nursing to patient contact, decreased paperwork
and increased efficiency for medication utilization. Status quo
won’t work for us. By taking a “hands on” approach we have changed
the day-to-day operations of the medication system. We have made
it “simply better.”
Q: What makes your system so different from other pharmacies?
A: For the past three and one half years we have been on-site
within a 190-bed Mental Health facility. Over this time our
pharmacy staff has had a unique opportunity to witness the
day-to-day challenges the nursing staff. The result of this
day-to-day relationship with nursing is the creation of a seamless
system between the pharmacy and nursing. The pharmacy has lessened
the burden placed on nursing staff through the creation of new
systems and by raising the standard of expectations of day-to-day
pharmacy operations.
Q: What made you decide to do things differently than everyone
else?
A: For 10 years prior to starting Rockhill LTC Pharmacy our
Director of Pharmacy, Stacy Bell, was a consultant pharmacist
traveling all over the states of Kansas and Missouri. All of his
facilities shared several common problems e.g. paper juggling,
performing a med pass within the required time frame, carrying out
order changes correctly, admit paperwork and maintenance of the
entire medication system. It was generally accepted that that’s
just the way the system is for long-term care. He and the
facilities we serve believe our patients deserve better.
Q: If something happens late at night how will I know that the
needs of my residents will be met?
A: Our services are provided 24 hours a day 7 days a week
including holidays. You will always be able to talk to one of our
staff.
Q: Can I get my families prescriptions filled at your
pharmacy?
A: We are currently licensed as a Closed-Door pharmacy and our
services are limited to those who reside within Residential, as well
as Long Term Care Facilities.
Q: If one of my residents receives a new order will they have
to wait until that night to receive that medication?
A: Not all new orders necessitate the need for emergency delivery.
Those that do will be delivered to your facility accordingly. Our
goal is, and will remain, to have the interest of your residents at
heart. We will adjust deliveries as needed to meet the needs of our
customers.
